Monthly Medal Dates 2010

In 2010, Whitehill House Golf Club once again intends to run six monthly medal competitions for members. To encourage a good number of members to participate, we are releasing the dates of these competitions in advance of the 2010 season. The medal competitions will be held on the second weekend of each month between April and September. The dates for your diary are:

• Saturday 10th April
• Sunday 9th May
• Saturday 12th June
• Sunday 11th July
• Saturday 7th August
• Sunday 12th September

To play in any of the monthly medals, members need only book a tee-off time in the clubhouse in the fortnight prior to the competition. A small prize (as well as clubhouse bragging rights!) will be presented to the winner of each monthly medal.

We also hope to run a club championship competition this year at Whitehill House. This will be a matchplay competition held over the months of July and August. The competition will be open to all members and will culminate with the crowning of our 2010 club champion. More details of the matchplay competition will be posted in the clubhouse nearer the time.

For further information, or suggestions, relating to the monthly medals or the club championship, please speak to the weekend staff in the clubhouse. We hope that our members will continue to support the club’s efforts to run regular competitions at Whitehill House, and take advantage of the opportunity to improve their handicaps!

THE CHALLENGE AHEAD

The course winds its way through a mature woodland setting and although fairly challenging it is fantastic fun to play.

There is a great combination of PAR 4 and PAR 5 holes with tricky doglegs to negotiate and three particularly challenging PAR 3 holes, the most interesting being the 187 yard 8th.

The course’s signature hole, Ramsay’s Revenge, certainly lives up to its name.

From an elevated tee you are required to play over a wooded gorge to an undulating green surrounded by strategically placed bunkers.

You will be hard pushed to find a more spectacular PAR 3 hole in Scotland.
